I thought about putting this in the story, but if you're a Trump hater who hopes the Iran war is a disaster just so Trump's approval rating tanks even more and Republicans self-implode, recall George W. H. Bush's triumph in the Persian Gulf War in 1991. That was about as clean a a victory can be. US forces performed remarkably. The war ended quickly and decisively. And Bush lost reelection one year later because of a mild recession. 🤔

Two different problems. Besides, like I said, give it a month and it will be easier to say what's right and wrong when we have a better idea what the costs and benefits are. Also, FWIW, with Iran weak and its proxies humbled, this would be an ideal time for Netanyahu to offer some kind of deal with the Palestinians to give them meaningful autonomy AND for the prosperous Arab states to get involved. That would take enlightened US leadership. So ....

Iran has as much to loose here as our country .What we have given up is a democratic government.Trump does most of this simply because, he can an has no interest in our branches of government.
