¶ Both political parties stink. There is no party representing pragmatic moderates. This is why more Americans identify as Independent than as Republican or Democrat.
¶ The media contributes to national dysfunction by covering political warfare as if it’s sport or entertainment. Political fights are too often the story, when the real story is the unmet needs of people the politicians disserve. Filling this gap is our mission.
¶ The nation’s biggest problems are wealth inequality, opportunity inequality, an economy that benefits too few Americans, healthcare that costs too much and is too hard to get, and insane amounts of gun violence.
¶ The best economic system is well-regulated capitalism. We don’t need to overhaul capitalism. We need a government that does a better job solving the problems free markets can’t.
¶ Hustle matters as much as ever. Personal responsibility and self-improvement are important factors in success. Solutions for raising living standards must include individual accountability.
¶ America remains a dynamic place with millions of decent citizens and a rich network of communities. It’s worth doing the hard work to make American better.
