Elon Musk's trillionaire status is a sideshow. Investing guru Dave Nadig says watch out for the "GameStop problem" and get ready for an even more volatile market.
If you have investments in an index fund, you should be able to look up the index fund at the brokerage and somewhere it should list all the holdings. If you have a fund that tracks the NASDAQ 100 it will hold SpaceX at some point. But the portion held in SpaceX will likely be very small at first because most of SpaceX is still owned privately. Only a small portion is on the public market in the form of stock anybody can buy. More is coming though, as rules limiting insider owners from selling all at once expire and more start to sell.
Here for example you can see all the stocks in the Invesco QQQ ETF, one of the leading NASDAQ index funds. SpaceX not on the list yet but it will be. Top 5 are Nvidia, Apple, Micron, Microsoft, and Amazon.
Reminder: The S&P 500 index is not admitting SpaceX for a long time. That's the most-tracked index and people holding S&P500 index funds will not own SPCX any time soon
Looks like Contrafund has about 4.5% SPCX already! Personally, I dislike Musk but it wouldn't bother me, I think your conscience is off the hook when trying to invest in a diversified portfolio so you can have a livable retirement
It is only a matter of time before all this horse-s--t becomes nothing more than stuff written on paper because, paper is just what it is.Just like the dollar bill. It is just paper. This is either headed toward 1929 or something worse not sure what it might be but it could be worse. Thanks for the cartoon's. They are special.God Bless.
Good advice.... borne out by the stock price decrease over the last 2 days.
Yup. If markets were rational, SpaceX would fall a lot further.
Is there a good resource to see if my accounts through work are in SpaceX

Thanks. I managed to dig up info. I have about 5% tied up in FCNTX.
About 5% of that has that musky odor. So no worries there.
i guess I’ve had good advice because my portfolio is balanced well.
