So much overlap between this list and the weekly WTF list, isn't there? A sign of the crazy times we live in. Circular financing in the AI sector, well-placed AI singularity concerns especially after the AI-breaking-containment-and-going-rogue hack reported last week (the same Sam Altman was raising alarms not too long ago but is now sanguine about it!), Moon Cross (would lead my WTF list), measles comeback (and why people seem surprised after 18 months), Cracker Barrel C-suite shenanigans...

Sometimes it feels like we are becoming a cynical, decadent, navel-gazing culture with nothing better to do than just argue and fight and destroy what generations before ours built (warts and all). Today it's a stupider version of the country I first arrived in four decades ago as a foreign grad student, full of admiration for its core civic, rule-of-law, and altruistic values (although we did our share of stupid and sometimes nasty, counterproductive things back then too).

Don't mean to sound all downcast ๐Ÿ˜‚

You're onto me. There is overlap between weekly wtf and the new matterboard, for a few reasons. One, I'm trying to build TPP into a funner, more irreverent version of The Week, where you can get a good idea what's going on in a short period of time. Two, nothing wrong with repurposing material. Three, the Matterboard is a visual feature that looks pretty grabby on social media, while Weekly WTF is for people who want to read. I've heard from people who like the board but don't want to read about every item. Give the people what they wan!
