They grow the Superplatano in Puerto Rico and quite a few others. Trump would need to send the national guard down there to get production up. What better use could there be for them? 😁
People mostly grow them in their backyards. 30+ years ago I saw a few plants at the Florida House Learning Center. They showcased "green" tech and house building ideas but have since been perverted by local construction interests. Anyway, they had a few plants using the drainage water from low/no phosphate laundry detergent and the bananas seemed happy. The "gray" water was efficiently reused in this way, and if memory serves correct, the area was probably 20-25 sq ft with lots of rocks and mulch. I never heard of anyone complaining about soapy bananas 😁
On the flip side, my grandfather unsuccessfully tried growing apples in a colder region of Florida.
